Our mission
EM Training Services Ltd was established to provide professional high quality health related training to all. With a range of First Aid related courses and the ability to provide specialist bespoke training we are confident we can meet your needs.
Quality and value for money...
At EM Training Services we don't claim never to be beaten on price, if you are simply looking for the cheapest then keep surfing, we are not the organisation for you, but we do aim never to be beaten on the quality of our service and the quality of training that students experience with us. We regularly monitor this through evaluation and feedback. We also believe that our pricing is competitive and the overall service constitutes very good value for money, for those companies that wish to work with us to provide a range of training and equipment then EM Training Services can offer some extremely attractive bespoke packages.
Not just a tick in the box...
EM Training Services genuinely believe that First Aid, especially CPR and early defibrillation makes a real difference and saves lives, in fact we know it works from both experience and from the mounting number of studies and papers published on the subject. Our motivation comes from helping companies and organisations that share this belief to achieve the highest standards for their employees, customers and visitors. There is no greater reward than hearing someone you have trained has gone on to save a life.
EM Training Services views a contract as a partnership. We will take the time to study your organisation and working environment, tailoring courses to meet your individual needs and producing training programmes and scenarios that are directly relevant. We can suggest and supply equipment either separately or as part of an overall package. We focus on delivering training at your premises so students learn in a familiar environment. Your staff are also then readily available during breaks and at the start and end of the day to deal with any issues arising in their day job. On successful completion of the course we encourage the relationship to continue, if students we have trained have to utilise their resuscitation or AED skills for real we provide a 24/7, 365 days a year post incident support service completely free of charge for the complete duration of their certificate.
Knowledge imparted...
EM Training Services course Trainers are selected for their ability to get the subject over in an effective way, whilst making the training as relaxed and enjoyable an experience as they can. For skills courses an emphasis is placed on practical application. We recognise that our students come from a multitude of work backgrounds and educational experience so sessions are designed to take this into account. Above all we believe that confidence is the key to good patient care so we aim to ensure students finish the course not just competent but also confident.
Unity in Diversity...
EM Training Services believe that diversity brings enrichment to the learning environment. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, race, religion, faith, culture, sexual orientation or disability. Some courses do have a minimum physical requirement to fulfil the course outcomes. EM Training Services will do all that is reasonably possible to accommodate individual student needs whilst delivering training courses.
Keeping it real...
It is important to EM Training Services that our Trainers have practical experience of their subject in order to teach it. Where as we always adhere to the latest best practice national and international guidelines, our experience is that the world is rarely textbook. People don't always fall on their back like they do in the book, people don't always sit quietly whilst you try and apply a sling and people don't jump up after a few cardiac compressions like they do on Baywatch, so by utilising instructors with recent real world experience we can bring the outside world into the classroom for the benefit of our students. Whilst imparting this experience though we are also careful to avoid the 'war story' style of training. I am sure, like us, you have been on courses where the instructor is more intent on talking about all the things they have done than empowering the students to acquire the skills themselves.
We carefully select our Training team according to the following criteria;
- Ability to teach
- Knowledge of subject
- Practical experience of subject
Therefore the majority of our Trainers are State Registered Paramedics, Nurses and members of HM Armed Forces who 'do the job one day and teach it the next'. We also have a number of Doctors available to teach bespoke advanced courses where needed. Where possible we aim to send you information about your Trainer prior to the Training session.
Clinical Focus...
EM Training Services aim is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to provide effective pre-hospital care until the patient can be handed over to the next stage of care.
Training is delivered in accordance with the latest UK Resuscitation Council guidelines, European Resuscitation Council guidelines and the JRCALC (Joint Royal College Ambulance Liaison Committee) Clinical Practice guidelines. We deliver programmes to suit your needs, not ours - we will not recommend unnecessary training courses. All programmes can be customised to suit your location and incorporate site specific protocols, procedures and equipment.
EM Training Services believe in good governance and all our courses are provided under Medical Direction. In addition we have appointed experienced Clinical Advisors to assure the quality of all our clinical courses. Please view the profiles to the left for more about the advisory team.
We can also draw on specialist advice when required from contacts we have for specific requirements such as Paediatrics, Equality and Diversity and CBRN.
