First aid legislation

A picture of a first aid kit and Health and Safety law posterThe Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 outline the essential areas of first aid that employers must comply with. The Health and Safety Executive have produced an Approved Code of Practice and Guidance Manual to assist employers.

We recognise however that modern businesses have a multitude of Health and Safety responsibilities to comply with and it can be time consuming and daunting.

EM Training Services will happily discuss with you your requirements, visit your work place and provide you with full advice on what you require. We can offer packages to cover your wider work place safety requirements so you can focus on running your business. By providing a personal review of your procedures our aim is to provide a quality service that meets all your responsibilities whilst minimising staff downtime. This one stop shop approach will potentially save your business money.

The actual number of first aiders you will require should be determined by a risk assessment taking into account a number of factors. Speak to us today to discuss your requirements.

Automated External Defibrillation

There is no statutory legal requirement under English and Welsh law to provide a defibrillator, however this does not mean that there is no risk of liability arising if you do not have one. We explain this further in the AED Zone. EM Training Services will also provide a full consultation service on AEDs. Visit the AED zone now to find out more.
